Piet Retief Country Club was founded in 1957 and since then been a cornerstone to leisure activities to the small community of Piet Retief. It has a 9 hole golf course (which can be played as 18), squash court, a swimming pool and a bowls section with their own clubhouse and bar.
The club is situated on the N2 in the south-east corner of
Mpumalanga, about 30km north of Kwa zulu-Natal and 30km west of
Swaziland.

The loveliness of Mpumalanga is celebrated at the Piet Retief Country Club. And, thanks to its central location (just 30 kilometers from KwaZulu-Natal and squarely between St Lucia Nature Reserve and the world-renowned Kruger National Park), it is a favorite amongst seasoned gofers and beginners or first-timers alike.
Although it has nine holes, it can be played as an 18-hole course. Tee times are welcomed and the club is open Wednesday thru Sunday all year around. It is affiliated with SAGA and SALGU, and offers members and visitors the opportunity to get the most out of the fairways, while still getting the chance to relax in a setting of fresh air and sunshine.
In addition to the golf course, the Piet Retief Country Club offers other sporting facilities and entertainment options. These include squash courts, a swimming pool, braai area and bowls. The bar at the clubhouse is licensed and provides a fantastic spot in which to unwind or dissect one’s game.
